Overview

Ceylon Crests: A Short Hill Country Escape

Tailored for travellers with limited time, this four-day mini tour captures the core essences of Sri Lanka’s geography, history, and hill-country charm. Setting off from the international airport on the west coast, the route winds into the interior toward Pinnawala to witness rescued Asian elephants engaging in daily routines and river bathing before ascending to Kandy. As the last independent royal stronghold of ancient Sri Lanka, Kandy provides an introduction to the island’s Buddhist heritage through its sacred lakeside shrine, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

From Kandy, the journey ascends into the Central Highlands toward Nuwara Eliya, climbing past cascading mountain streams, dramatic valley gorges, and emerald tea estates. Guests explore working tea processing factories, discover colonial architecture dating back to the British era, and visit legendary sacred sites linked to the Ramayana epic in Sita Eliya.

The tour concludes with a descent across the western foothills back to Colombo for an orientation drive through the capital’s historic colonial avenues and shopping precincts. Designed for efficient travel, this compact circuit features private vehicle transfers, dedicated representative assistance, and well-managed road transit times.
